La Liga: FC Barcelona stranded in Seville
Following their impressive victory on Saturday evening, FC Barcelona were forced to change their plans on Sunday.
FC Barcelona’s preparations for the clash with PSG took an unexpected turn. Hansi Flick’s men were faced with unforeseen weather conditions that disrupted their schedule. According to Sport, the weather conditions in Catalonia prevented the Blaugrana squad from returning to Barcelona from Seville on Saturday evening.
Sunday training session cancelled
The direct consequence of this setback is that the group training session scheduled for 11 a.m. on Sunday was cancelled. The disruption began overnight from Saturday into Sunday. After their emphatic 5-2 victory over Betis in La Liga, the Catalans were due to return immediately afterwards, but the bad weather prevented their plane from taking off.
The Catalans finally arrive in Barcelona
Although Barça quickly issued a statement about the situation, explaining that “due to the storm hitting the city of Barcelona, the first team’s flight was unable to depart as planned and the team would remain in Seville,” the good news has now arrived. On its X account, Barça posted a video showing the team making its return.
