Yamal reveals the secrets behind his spectacular move against Galatasaray

During an interview with Thierry Henry, the former iconic FC Barcelona and Arsenal player, on the American channel CBS Sports, Yamal looked back on the move. He explained that he had noticed defenders often threw themselves to the ground when he approached the goal line, a habit he decided to exploit.

“Lately, I’ve noticed that defenders often throw themselves to the ground when I approach the goal line, near the touchline. I saw an opportunity there and thought it could work while also being more spectacular. And it worked, so I’m very happy about that. I always try to use feints to create space,” the young Barcelona player said.

Addressing Thierry Henry, he continued: “You know very well that defenders always try to put you under pressure.”

Asked to give his move a name, Yamal replied humorously: “What would I call this dribble? I don’t know. I’d say it was almost a rabona. The important thing is that it worked well for the assist to Gordon; it was effective.”

Despite providing two assists, the Spanish winger did not score during the match. He was nevertheless named man of the match, reflecting his influence on FC Barcelona’s victory.
