His talent then led him to Atlético Madrid in 2014, where he quickly earned a major role. A two-season stint at FC Barcelona between 2019 and 2021 added another 74 matches before his return to the Colchoneros, where he now totals 87 games.

For his part, Lionel Messi dedicated his entire Spanish career to FC Barcelona, where he shone for no less than 17 years, reaching 520 matches.
