Liverpool: Mido's decisive advice to Mohamed Salah

The crisis at Liverpool is far from over. Mido has offered some pointed advice to Mohamed Salah regarding his future.

A luxury substitute this season, Mohamed Salah lashed out at his coach Arne Slot last Saturday. The strong words in the media were deemed inappropriate by many observers, while others believe Salah orchestrated the move to push the club's management into letting him go during the winter transfer window. Speaking on the matter, Mido advised Salah to pack his bags.

"I've already lived through this kind of situation. When Liverpool plays, the whole of Egypt is glued to their TVs, waiting for Salah to play, hoping he scores a goal. Everyone feels like their own son is playing today in the best league in the world. They're proud of him. That puts enormous pressure on him to perform and get involved. He's not just any player—he's the king here in Egypt. People need to understand that. It was the same for me when I played for Tottenham, for example. All of Egypt waited for the match, sitting in cafes, eager to watch me play. They were proud of me, just as they're proud of Salah. And that pressure is real. I've experienced it myself. (...) I think he should leave. I believe it's time for him to go. If you lose that trust with your coach, it's tough to repair. But if he leaves, he needs to go out on a high note, if you know what I mean. He's done so much for Liverpool. He's a legend," he told Skysports.
