Foot Africa can reveal that Mamelodi Sundowns are exploring a loan exit for out-of-favour winger Kobamelo Kodisang.

The 26-year-old attacker joined the Brazilians in July 2024 from Portuguese topflight outfit Moreirense in a deal worth €2, 500 000 (R46 million).

He put pen to paper on a five-year deal that's set to run until June 2029, meaning he still has three years left in his current deal at Chloorkop.

Kodisang made 13 appearances across all competitions in his debut season at Sundowns, chipping in with two goals and as many assists in the process.

With competition rife at Masandawana, he was sent back to Portugal, where he spent the first half of the 2025/26 campaign on loan with Avs FS.

The attacker returned to Sundowns this year in January upon the end of his loan spell, and saw another loan, this time to Stellenbosch FC, sanctioned.

His future is now hanging in the balance as he is yet to make the matchday squad in the current season and is understood to be training separately.

Now, sources have indicated that Sundowns and the player's camp are locked in talks to find common ground over his future, with a loan exit being discussed.

It's understood Kodisang is open to a departure as he looks to secure game time elsewhere, amid eye-catching performances from new Downs signings.

Whether the African champions will allow the former Bafana international to leave the club on a season-long loan or a permanent exit remains to be seen.
