Manchester City: Enzo Maresca confirms Rodri situation!

Enzo Maresca acknowledges that Rodri could still leave, while Manchester City continues to reject various offers put forward by FC Barcelona.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of Sunday's Community Shield clash with Arsenal, Enzo Maresca addressed the future of Rodri. The Spanish midfielder remains the top priority for FC Barcelona, who are said to have already reached an agreement on personal terms.

"First of all, the transfer window is open. We can buy and sell players, anything can happen. I just saw Rodri in the building. I gave him a big hug, he looks good. We'll see what happens," explained the Italian manager.

Manchester City remains firm

Despite this openness, Manchester City has no intention of making any concessions to Barça. The Cityzens have reportedly already turned down two offers, the latest of which was around €60 million including bonuses. The English club is said to be demanding between €70 and €80 million to release their midfielder, who is under contract until June 2027.

Last season, Rodri played 21 Premier League matches, starting 17 of them. He totaled 1,513 minutes, scored one goal, and did not provide any assists. Despite a season disrupted by physical issues, the 30-year-old regained his best form for Spain during the 2026 World Cup. Barcelona are now preparing a third and final offer estimated at €70 million, bonuses included.
