Manchester City: Enzo Maresca's apology to Chelsea

Manager Enzo Maresca was officially appointed to the Manchester City bench this Monday.

While Chelsea decided to speak out just minutes after the official announcement to clarify the circumstances of the Italian's departure last January, Enzo Maresca has issued an apology to the Blues.

"At the end of December 2025, I made the difficult decision to leave Chelsea. This decision was mine alone. My resignation from Chelsea paved the way for me to join Manchester City, a club I know very well. I am thrilled to have now joined Manchester City. I recognize that leaving Chelsea in the middle of the season caused disruption for the club, and I apologize for that. It was neither my intention nor my wish," admitted the Italian coach.
