Manchester City faces first rejection in pursuit of Elliot Anderson

With just weeks to go before the summer transfer window opens, one of England’s most sought-after young midfielders already finds his future hanging in the balance. Manchester City has made their move, but the deal is far from settled.

Elliot Anderson could well be one of the headline-makers of the summer transfer window. According to highly reliable English journalist David Ornstein, Manchester City has already tabled an initial offer to sign the Nottingham Forest midfielder.

However, this bid was turned down by Nottingham Forest, who have no intention of letting go one of their most valuable assets on the cheap. Despite this first setback, the Citizens have not given up and continue to work behind the scenes to try and convince Forest. The club’s management wants to secure the best possible deal should a departure materialize this summer.

At 23, Anderson is coming off a particularly impressive season and is considered one of the most promising players of his generation. Still under contract for another three years, the England international is currently focused on the 2026 World Cup with Thomas Tuchel’s squad. Meanwhile, speculation about his future continues to swirl, as Manchester City appears determined to keep up the chase.
