Manchester U: André Onana takes a jab at OL ahead of Europa League clash
André Onana and Manchester United face Olympique Lyonnais in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals. Ahead of the showdown scheduled for Thursday, April 10 at the Groupama Stadium, the Cameroonian goalkeeper exudes confidence and doesn't hesitate to let the opposition know.
In the lead-up to the Europa League encounter against Olympique Lyonnais, André Onana was interviewed by Manchester Evening News. The Cameroonian goalkeeper for Manchester United acknowledges the high level of the opposition but didn't mince his words regarding the French club's chances against his team.
"We know some of the players in their squad, but I don't think we should focus on them. It's more about us, what we're going to do," the Red Devils' keeper initially declared.
It's worth noting that Manchester United currently stands 13th in the English Premier League with inconsistent results. Meanwhile, their Lyonnais opponents are 5th in Ligue 1, just four points behind second-placed Marseille.
“I think we are much better than them, we just need to go out there and show who we are. If we go with a winning mentality, if we stay focused, compact, and united, and if we follow the game plan, we will win the match,” he added, dismissing OL's claims with a wave of his hand.
