Manchester United: pieces of Old Trafford pitch sold for €145

Manchester United’s decision-makers have found an original way to recycle Old Trafford’s old pitch.

Having been replaced this summer for the first time in 14 years, the Theatre of Dreams’ turf was cut into small 7 cm by 7 cm squares, now being offered to supporters for £125 each (€145), according to The Sun. Presented in a black box accompanied by a photo of the stadium, each piece is being sold as a one-of-a-kind collector’s item.

It should be noted that the club had already launched a similar initiative during the previous pitch replacement, before the 2012–13 season, with significant success among fans. The initiative comes as Manchester United’s finances remain fragile. The club recorded a pre-tax loss of €54 million for the 2025–26 financial year and has accumulated €516 million in losses over the past seven financial years, despite record revenues of €787.79 million.
