Manuel Akanji will continue his career at Inter Milan. Loaned from Manchester City with a mandatory purchase option, his transfer is now officially confirmed.

Two conditions needed to be met for the deal to become permanent. The first, related to his playing time, had already been fulfilled some time ago, with the defender featuring in 44 matches this season. The second was sporting: Inter had to be crowned champions of Italy. That requirement is now met after their decisive win against Parma (2-0), which secured the title for the Nerazzurri.

With this triumph, the Italian club is now obliged to activate the purchase option set at around €15 million and finalize the player's contract through 2028. Having previously played for Borussia Dortmund and FC Basel, Akanji now adds another chapter to an already impressive career, highlighted by a Champions League title with Manchester City.
