Maurice Revello Tournament: DR Congo U-23 Leopards to play in the consolation match
The DR Congo U-23 national team clinched their ticket to the Maurice Revello Tournament semi-finals this Wednesday. Guy Bukasa's men asserted their dominance over Saudi Arabia with a 2-0 victory, marking their second win in the competition.
Joel Ahoka opened the scoring after a brilliant long ball from Josué Kimbunga. Early in the second half, Oscar Kabwit doubled the lead following a well-orchestrated team move initiated by Messi Manito. From there, the Congolese side managed the game with intelligence and composure.
With two wins, one draw, and one defeat, DR Congo secured a spot among the tournament's top four teams. The Leopards finished second in Group A with 7 points, just behind Tunisia. In this position, DR Congo will face the runner-up of Group B for the bronze medal, which will be either Ivory Coast or Portugal.
