Mbappé tops all-time World Cup scorers list

Kylian Mbappé has once again made World Cup history. The French striker netted a brace in the third-place match against England, bringing his total to 10 goals at this 2026 edition. This feat puts him alone at the top of the Golden Boot standings, despite France's fourth-place finish.

With now 22 goals across three World Cups, the captain of Les Bleus also becomes the all-time leading goalscorer in the competition, surpassing all the legendary names who came before him.

Mbappé joins a very exclusive club. He is only the fourth player ever to score at least 10 goals in a single World Cup, following Sándor Kocsis (11 in 1954), Just Fontaine (13 in 1958), and Gerd Müller (10 in 1970). Notably, he is the first to reach this mark in 56 years.

At just 27 years old, Kylian Mbappé continues to write one of the greatest chapters in football history, stacking up records on the sport's grandest stage.
