FC Augsburg has rejected the latest €25 million bid submitted by Crystal Palace for Chrislain Matsima. This written offer—the Eagles’ second, following an initial €20 million bid—failed to convince the German management, who still consider the amount insufficient.

Despite this refusal, negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing. Crystal Palace remains determined to sign the 24-year-old French centre-back before the transfer window closes, while Augsburg hopes to secure a higher transfer fee.

The deal is nonetheless made easier by the player’s stance. Chrislain Matsima has already reached a full agreement with Crystal Palace on the terms of his future contract and is now waiting for both clubs to reach an understanding to finalize his move.

The player is eager to discover the Premier League, where he is being targeted as a replacement for Maxence Lacroix, who looks set to depart for Chelsea. Crystal Palace is expected to continue discussions with Augsburg in hopes of quickly reaching common ground.
