The English club Ipswich Town has officially announced the signing of Moroccan international Issa Diop from Fulham during this summer transfer window.

Ipswich Town announces Issa Diop’s arrival until 2030

The 29-year-old centre-back has signed with the Tractor Boys until June 2030, as confirmed by the club on its official website. However, the transfer fee has not been disclosed.

This signing comes just weeks after Issa Diop’s participation in the 2026 World Cup with Morocco. Delivering a convincing tournament, he played five matches, scored once, and helped guide the Atlas Lions to the quarter-finals.

After putting pen to paper, the Moroccan defender shared his delight: “I am very happy to take a new step in my career by joining Ipswich Town. I know the history and ambition of this club. The conversations I had with the management and staff immediately convinced me that this was the perfect project for me.”

He added: “This summer has been especially intense with the World Cup played in Morocco’s colours. I am proud to join Ipswich Town and can’t wait to meet my new teammates, the coaching staff, and our fans.”

Ipswich Town manager Gary O'Neil also expressed his delight at the new signing. The English coach believes that Issa Diop’s top-level experience, especially in the Premier League, along with his defensive qualities, will be a major asset for his squad.
