Mercato: Nathan Aké leaves Manchester City and signs with Fenerbahçe
Dutch defender Nathan Aké is on the move. Fenerbahçe officially announced on Friday the signing of the player from Manchester City, opening a new chapter in the seasoned centre-back's career.
Under contract with the Citizens since the summer of 2020, Aké has collected twelve trophies, including four Premier League titles and a Champions League. At 31, the Dutchman has decided to take on a new challenge in Turkey after six seasons in England. The financial details of the deal and the length of his contract have not been disclosed.
An experienced addition for Fenerbahçe
The Istanbul club specified that Nathan Aké will join the squad after his period of rest, following his participation in the 2026 World Cup with the Netherlands. He will then take part in Fenerbahçe's pre-season camp in Austria, where he will reunite with fellow countrymen Jayden Oosterwolde, Anthony Musaba, and assistant coach Dirk Kuijt.
With this high-profile signing, Fenerbahçe significantly strengthens its defensive line for the upcoming season.
