Mercato: Yan Diomandé chooses PSG

The decision is made: Yan Diomandé has chosen his next club. According to multiple reliable sources, the Ivorian international has decided to join Paris Saint-Germain this summer. The player has already agreed terms with the Parisian club on a contract running through 2031.

Yan Diomandé is on the verge of becoming a Paris Saint-Germain player. He has given his green light to the Parisian outfit, ending the hopes of other suitors. At this stage, talks are now taking place at the highest level between PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi and RB Leipzig’s supervisory board chairman, Oliver Mintzlaff. Relations between the two club bosses are said to be excellent, which could help smooth the negotiation process.

However, no agreement has yet been reached between the two clubs. RB Leipzig remains firm: the German side wants to keep hold of their young prodigy and is still working on a contract extension, featuring a pay rise and a release clause.

Liverpool pulls out of the race

Liverpool, who had tabled a total offer of €100 million, saw their bid swiftly rejected. The Reds are not expected to return with a new proposal at this stage, as the player’s choice in favor of PSG has changed the dynamic.

Leipzig, however, is not planning to give in easily. The German club’s hierarchy believes that any potential transfer would only happen for an exceptional fee, well in excess of €100 million.
