Michael Olise sets three records with France against Belgium
Bayern Munich forward, Michael Olise, particularly stood out during France’s 4-1 victory over Belgium on Monday evening, on the occasion of the fourth matchday of Group A in the Nations League.
Trailing after Dodi Lukebakio opened the scoring in the 35th minute, Les Bleus turned the game around in the second half.
Désiré Doué equalised in the 77th minute before Rayan Cherki put France ahead, then Michael Olise scored twice in the final minutes.
Three records for Michael Olise
According to the “Stats Foot” statistics account, Michael Olise has become the first player in Les Bleus’ history to have been involved in a goal in each of a manager’s first four matches. Since Zizou’s arrival, he has recorded four goals and two assists.
The Bayern Munich player has also reached a total of 22 goals and assists in his first 29 appearances for France, with 11 goals and 11 assists. He has thus become the first player to reach this mark since Youri Djorkaeff in 1997.
Olise has also scored four goals for Les Bleus against nations ranked among the top 10 in the world, confirming his effectiveness in major international fixtures.
Finally, he has become the first player in France’s history to provide 10 assists in a single calendar year, in 2026.
