Pre-Season preparations pay off
Speaking to ON Time Sports following the final whistle on Saturday evening, Mokwena credited the team's dominant display to the rigorous preparatory work done during the summer break.
"Congratulations to Pyramids and all the members of the club. We had excellent preparation during the pre-season" Mokwena stated.
He emphasized the quality of their recent training camp in Turkey, noting that veteran goalkeeper Ahmed El Shenawy described it as "one of the best camps" he had ever experienced in his career.
Tactical satisfaction & clean sheet
Pyramids controlled the tempo throughout the 90 minutes, converting their tactical drills into tangible on-pitch results. The former Mamelodi Sundowns boss was particularly pleased with how his attacking structures translated into goals.
"We are happy with the result, we played very well and I am delighted with the goals.. We were the better team throughout the match and I am glad we came out with a clean sheet. We played a good game and scored goals in the exact manner we practiced during our pre-season" Mokwena explained.
Despite the emphatic start, Mokwena remained grounded, acknowledging the length of the upcoming campaign:
"The journey is still very early but I am happy with the win"
