The Cairo-based club, now managed by Moroccan coach Hussein Ammouta, has already strengthened its squad this summer with the arrivals of Abdallah Oktay and Ali Mahmoud from ENPPI

Monsef Bakrar Closing In on an Al Ahly Move

According to Egyptian outlet FilGoal, negotiations between Al Ahly and Dinamo Zagreb have reached an advanced stage over the transfer of Algerian striker Monsef Bakrar.

Al Ahly have increased their offer to $2.8 million in an effort to reach a final agreement with the Croatian club.

The same source added that Dinamo Zagreb have lowered their financial demands, bringing both parties closer to completing the deal.

At 25 years old, Bakrar has already built solid experience in Europe and North America. After beginning his professional career with ES Sétif, he went on to play for Croatian side Istra 1961 and New York City FC in Major League Soccer before joining Dinamo Zagreb.

Since arriving at the Croatian club, the Algerian international has made 42 appearances, scoring 18 goals and providing seven assists.
