This Wednesday, a second manager has entered the race to succeed Ronald Koeman on the Netherlands bench.

While in recent hours, De Telegraaf reported talks with Roberto Martinez for the role of Netherlands head coach, the Dutch outlet later revealed there is another active candidate. That candidate is Xavi Hernandez.

The former FC Barcelona manager has also been interviewed by the Dutch football federation (KNVB). "The Dutch federation has held discussions with Xavi, 46, about the possibility of him taking charge of the national team, although it remains unclear whether he will land the job, especially as predictions point to an imminent decision on the new coach's identity." the Dutch media outlet stated.

It's worth noting that Peter Bosz, Arne Slot, Erik ten Hag, Pep Guardiola, and Michael Reiziger had previously been considered by the Dutch federation, before the competition narrowed to Martínez and Xavi.
