An intimate setting in Cascais
The couple chose 11 August for the ceremony marking the 10th anniversary of their first meeting at a Gucci boutique in Madrid in 2016.
Steering away from a high profile celebrity gathering, the nuptials were held inside the living room of their summer mansion in Cascais, Portugal.
The ceremony took place around the family dining table, attended solely by their children. Georgina noted that choosing their daily gathering spot held deep sentimental value ensuring the memory remains etched in their children's minds for decades to come.
While the ceremony remained strictly private, Georgina confirmed that the couple intends to host a larger, traditional celebration in the future with extended family and friends.
Haute couture and private sanctuary blessing
The bride and groom wore bespoke attire designed by Demna:
- Georgina Rodriguez wore a custom white silk suit paired with signature silver accented heels, complemented by a diamond engagement ring and a high jewellery Chopard necklace featuring a 50 carat centrepiece diamond
- Cristiano Ronaldo selected a custom-tailored lightweight cotton suit in pale beige
- Photography: Renowned fashion photographer Juergen Teller documented the occasion and captured the official portraits
Following the home ceremony, the family took a one hour journey to the Sanctuary of Fátima. A private chapel was closed to the public allowing the family to hold a private prayer and blessing with their children in peace.
Immediate return to sporting duties
The couple bypassed a conventional honeymoon flying directly to Riyadh the following day due to Ronaldo’s sporting schedule ahead of the new campaign with Al-Nassr.
Ronaldo took the rapid turnaround in stride remarking that daily life with Georgina feels like an "eternal honeymoon".
The couple also shared insights into their household dynamic emphasizing their commitment to raising their children with strong values of humility and gratitude despite their privileged lifestyle. When asked about potentially expanding their family to seven children, Ronaldo noted he dislikes using the word "impossible" while Georgina added they might revisit the idea once their youngest children grow a bit older.
