The French national team faces Norway tonight, hoping to clinch the top spot in Group I.

After this match, France will learn who their opponent will be in the round of 32. For tonight's fixture, Kylian Mbappé and his teammates wanted to wear black armbands in tribute to Didier Deschamps' mother, who recently passed away.

However, RMC Sport reports that FIFA ultimately decided to deny permission for the armbands. The governing body of this 2026 World Cup did, however, allow a minute of silence before kick-off, but this will be in memory of those who lost their lives in the earthquake in Venezuela.
