Konyaspor will ultimately not be signing Emam Ashour this summer. Al Ahly has officially rejected the Turkish club's offer and insists their midfielder is not for sale this season.

An offer turned down by Al Ahly

Konyaspor had made an official bid to secure the services of the 28-year-old player. According to Al Ahly, the Turkish club wanted to pay the $4.5 million fee, approximately €3.8 million, in several installments spread over three years. This formula failed to convince the Egyptian management.

In an official statement, Al Ahly made it clear their Egyptian international would remain at the club this season. Emam Ashour, under contract until June 2028, remains a key part of the Cairo giant's project. The midfielder has 34 caps and two goals for Egypt.

Konyaspor will have to rethink its plans

This decision is a major setback for Konyaspor, who had been tracking Ashour for several weeks and was hoping to bolster its midfield with an experienced player.

The Turkish club will now have to explore other options or wait for a possible opening in a future transfer window. Al Ahly, however, has left the door slightly ajar by mentioning a potential collaboration in the future.
