Official: FC Barcelona extends their U18 captain's contract until 2029

FC Barcelona has officially secured the future of one of its brightest defensive prospects by extending Álex Campos' contract until June 2029.

The Catalan club has reached an agreement with its young 18-year-old defender to extend his stay. The new deal also includes an option for Barça to further extend the contract by an additional season.

According to transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano, the new agreement includes a clause giving FC Barcelona the option to extend the player’s contract until June 2030.

The Italian journalist broke the news on his official X account:

"FC Barcelona has reached an agreement with its defender and captain of the Spain U18 team, Álex Campos, to extend his contract until June 2029.

The new deal also includes an option for the club to extend it until June 2030."

At 18 years old, Álex Campos is considered one of the top defensive talents to emerge from La Masia. As captain of Spain's U18 national team, he plays as a central defender.

The young Spaniard quickly made a name for himself at Barça Atlètic after joining at the start of 2026. He has featured in 19 matches, scoring one goal and providing an assist.
