Official: Nobel Mendy joins Hull City in record transfer
Bought outright this summer from Betis for €3.5 million after his loan spell, Nobel Mendy has now been sold for over €20 million more.
Rayo Vallecano officially completed the sale of the young centre-back to Hull City on Wednesday for €25 million. This is the most expensive signing in the history of the English club, newly promoted to the Premier League. "Hull City is delighted to announce the signing of Senegal international Nobel Mendy from Rayo Vallecano (Spanish La Liga) for a club-record undisclosed fee," the club announced.
Thrilled with the deal, Mendy stated: "I am very happy and very proud to be here. I am a very athletic player and a defender at heart. I also really enjoy the game and making bold, aggressive defensive runs when needed. I've dreamed of playing in the Premier League since I was a child, so this is a great challenge and I am ready. This season will be a good one and we will succeed together."
