Olympique de Marseille are making sacrifices in the transfer market this summer. With key players like Geronimo Rulli and Facundo Medina already at the center of departure rumors, the Marseille management is determined to offload several of its most valuable assets to balance the books before the transfer window closes.
Signed last year for €23 million, Moroccan international Nayef Aguerd quickly established himself as one of the squad's top assets. He attracted plenty of interest this summer, but it was in Spain where his future accelerated.
Real Sociedad, where the player left a strong impression during his loan spell in 2024/2025, moved decisively to bring back the leader of their central defense. Enthusiastic about the prospect of playing under Pellegrino Matarazzo and featuring in the Europa League with the recent Copa del Rey winners, the Moroccan defender quickly gave the green light to the Basque club's management.
