Pitso Mosimane discusses his new role with Bafana Bafana

Pitso Mosimane, the 62-year-old new coach of Bafana Bafana, has selected his official squad for the upcoming international break with the team.

Pitso Mosimane selected several notable names to start the AFCON qualifiers, a move that sparked questions from the media.

Mosimane wants to try out Rele Mofokeng in different positions!

Mosimane went on to explain that Mofokeng's versatility across multiple roles has made his selection decisions considerably simpler. Since arriving at Royal Union Saint-Gilloise, the 21-year-old has been used either as a withdrawn striker or out on the right wing. During his time with Pirates, he began on the left flank before being shifted into a central position.

"Remember at Orlando Amstel Arena we used to see him playing as a winger; suddenly he is a 10 in a 4-2-3-1 formation. So the boy shows us he can play in different formations, and wherever he has been playing, he's been scoring or assisting," Mosimane added.

The attacker's strong performances in Belgium suggest he will be handed a starting role in Mosimane's Bafana lineup next week.

"I don't know if the coach did not believe in him. I have to go with what is right," Mosimane said.

"I saw the boy playing very well in his last two games in the World Cup, he did well, he dribbled, he played in the different role of the 3-4-3, and he has been used as a 10 on the right in the formation of the 3-4-3 which he has never played in, and adjusting to that formation, scoring goals," he explained.
