Portugal: Cristiano Ronaldo's strong words about new head coach

Before facing Wales tonight in the Nations League, Cristiano Ronaldo heaped praise on Jorge Jesus, Portugal's new head coach.

At a press conference on Wednesday evening ahead of the first Nations League match against Wales, Cristiano Ronaldo reflected on Jorge Jesus's appointment as Portugal head coach this summer. For CR7, Jesus is the right coach to get the best out of the team.

"It's a new era. That doesn't mean that what we have done so far should be forgotten; we must thank and congratulate Roberto Martinez, who did his best despite the attacks he faced. Today, it's a new era with Mister Jorge Jesus. I think it was the perfect choice, because of everything the Mister represents. He has already mentioned the many national-team players he has worked with before, which makes it easier to speed things up. The Mister will remain for many years, and I wish him all the best," Cristiano Ronaldo said at the press conference.

It must be said that the two men know each other very well, as Jorge Jesus was Ronaldo's coach at Al-Nassr last season.
