Portugal: it's official for Jorge Jesus

It's all but sealed for Jorge Jesus on the Portugal bench following the disappointment at the 2026 World Cup.

As widely expected, Jorge Jesus will take over from Roberto Martinez as Portugal's new head coach. According to AFP, the deal is done and the manager will be officially unveiled on Friday after reaching a full agreement with the Portuguese Football Federation.

Now a free agent after leaving Al Nassr in May, Jesus is expected to sign a contract running through to the 2030 World Cup. He will take charge of the Seleção just days after their round of 16 exit at the hands of Spain (0-1) in the World Cup.
