Just days after the controversial refereeing performance by François Letexier in the round of 16 match where Argentina edged Egypt 3-2, another French referee will take center stage in the quarter-finals.
Indeed, for the quarter-final clash of this 2026 World Cup between Norway and England scheduled for this Saturday, Clément Turpin has been appointed to officiate the match. Taking part in his third World Cup after 2018 and 2022, the Frenchman is set to oversee his fourth match of the tournament.
In the group stage, he took charge of England vs Croatia (4-2) and Paraguay vs Australia (0-0). In the round of 32, he officiated the match between Colombia and Ghana (1-0).
