On Saturday night, Norway was knocked out by England (1-2 after extra time) in the quarter-finals of this 2026 World Cup.

Norway will surely regret a golden missed chance by Alexander Sørloth while they were still leading. Breaking away on the counter with Erling Haaland, the Atletico Madrid striker chose to keep the ball rather than set up his teammate.

He finally explained himself: "The only thing I wanted to do was pass the ball to Erling, but I felt the pass probably wouldn't go through. I looked up and saw that Stones had cut off the passing lane. So I kept the ball, but unfortunately, there was no more space."
