Portugal: Nuno Mendes' view on the Cristiano Ronaldo matter

The major question that remains unanswered for now is whether Cristiano Ronaldo will wear the Portugal shirt again. Nuno Mendes is open to the idea of seeing the five-time Ballon d'Or winner back.

On Sunday evening, after the victory over Norway (2-1) in the Nations League, head coach Jorge Jesus opened the door to a return for five-time Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo. Nuno Mendes, for his part, says that the Al Nassr forward would be welcomed "with open arms" in the event of a comeback.

"Every player is welcome, that goes without saying. If Cristiano comes back, we will be there to welcome him with open arms, whether it is Cristiano or any other player, for that matter. (…) We are a close-knit group. Cristiano, or any other player who is not yet part of the team, is always welcome, and we are very happy about that," said the Paris Saint-Germain left-back on RTP.
