Premier League: Roy Keane calls for heavy sanctions against Liverpool

In recent hours, Roy Keane has not minced his words following the announcement of the verdict concerning Manchester City.

The English club was found guilty of 114 of the 115 breaches of the Premier League’s financial regulations of which it was accused. Manchester City has therefore incurred the wrath of the former Manchester United legend. Speaking on ITV before the match between England and Spain, the pundit directly responded to Rodri, who had defended the successes achieved by his former club.

“It was long overdue. This has clearly been going on for a long time. I do not agree with what Rodri said on the subject. It was the club’s choice: they chose to cheat. Whatever titles they have won in recent years, they deserve to be sanctioned,” Keane declared.

This view is shared by Ian Wright, who was also on the panel. He notably emphasized the consequences of these breaches for the other teams in the league. “They may have been able to experience all those memories and all those great moments together, but when you look at the teams that were chasing them and doing things properly, it’s not right,” he said.
