Premier League: when David De Gea pokes fun at Manchester City

In recent hours, the verdict in the financial fair-play case involving Manchester City has sparked reactions across the football world.

According to information from The Athletic, Manchester City was found guilty of 114 of the 115 breaches it was accused of by the Premier League. While no sanction has yet been decided and the club is expected to appeal, David De Gea has also joined the reactions surrounding the case. Indeed, the former Manchester United goalkeeper and captain, who won the English title in 2013 with the Red Devils, posted a particularly cryptic message on X.

David De Gea appeared to be referring to the titles won by Manchester City in recent years, while indirectly recalling his own Premier League record. “So, let’s talk about it. How many Premier League titles have I won?”, he wrote.

The post comes as the potential consequences of the verdict are already beginning to stir up the English league. According to David Ornstein, several Premier League clubs are reportedly considering taking legal action against Manchester City.
