PSG: Ibrahim Mbaye asks to join Liverpool

Ibrahim Mbaye has reportedly asked PSG to approve his move to Liverpool, but a financial gap between the two clubs continues to stall the deal.

The Ibrahim Mbaye saga is entering a decisive phase. According to reports from KrrishFT, the Senegal international has made an official request to Paris Saint-Germain to join Liverpool. Already in agreement with the Reds on a contract running until June 2031, the 18-year-old winger now hopes both clubs will find a compromise.

A significant financial gap remains

According to the same source, Liverpool have tabled a total offer of 50 million euros. PSG, however, see this as insufficient, reportedly demanding around 65 million to release their player. The Parisian club had initially set his price at 70 million euros before talks continued.

Mbaye, under contract until 2028 and valued at 30 million euros, remains protected by a contract situation in PSG's favor. Last season, the Senegalese winger featured in 24 Ligue 1 matches, including ten starts, netting three goals and delivering two assists. His bursts of speed, direct running, and crossing ability fit the profile Liverpool are seeking.

An option to succeed Mohamed Salah

Since Mohamed Salah's move to Trabzonspor, Liverpool have been looking to reinforce their right flank for the long term. Able to play on either wing but particularly effective on the right, Mbaye is seen as a future prospect for the Reds rather than an immediate replacement for the Egyptian star.

PSG, however, still hold all the cards thanks to Mbaye's contract. Without an agreement that meets their demands, the Parisian club will not be forced to sell. Negotiations could therefore continue right up until the final days of the transfer window.
