PSG: Luis Enrique hands the 2026 Ballon d'Or to Fabian Ruiz
After making his return to training this Monday, Fabian Ruiz was congratulated by his Paris Saint-Germain teammates for his World Cup 2026 title with Spain.
His coach Luis Enrique also had a playful jab for him. The Spanish tactician jokingly sees Fabian Ruiz as the hot favorite to win the 2026 Ballon d'Or. "Fabian, that's a World Cup, the Euros two years ago, back-to-back Champions Leagues, the Nations League... Ballon d'Or!" quipped the Spanish manager in a segment broadcast by the club on social media.
Given Fabian Ruiz's trophy haul this year, the midfielder really does seem destined to finish in the top 10 of the 2026 Ballon d'Or rankings. As a reminder, the 70th Ballon d'Or ceremony will take place on Monday, October 26, 2026, in London, England.
Tomorrow, Fabian Ruiz could add yet another trophy with Paris Saint-Germain. The French side will take on Aston Villa tomorrow in the UEFA Super Cup final.
