Raphael Onyedika moves closer to Eintracht Frankfurt

Raphael Onyedika is edging towards a departure from Club Brugge. Eintracht Frankfurt has ramped up discussions with the Belgian side and is steadily closing in on a deal for the Super Eagles midfielder.

The German club submitted an initial offer last week, but Club Brugge’s management deemed it insufficient. Negotiations remain ongoing in a spirit of confidence, with Club Brugge maintaining their demands at €10 million.

A standout spell at Club Brugge

Since arriving in Belgium in the summer of 2022, Onyedika has featured in 183 matches for Club Brugge. The Nigerian midfielder has been instrumental in the club’s success, helping secure two Belgian league titles (2023-2024 and 2025-2026), a Belgian Cup in 2025, and the Belgian Supercup that same year. Through his consistent performances, he has established himself as a pillar of the Brugge squad.

Frankfurt renews its pursuit

Courted for several seasons, the 25-year-old is now eager to take the next step in his career. Both parties agreed as early as January that Club Brugge would facilitate his departure should a suitable offer arrive. Frankfurt, already interested last summer, assured the player and his representatives that they would return for him in this transfer window—a promise now being fulfilled.

Now in the final year of his contract, Raphael Onyedika has declined several extension offers from Club Brugge. This stance is pushing the Belgian champions to prioritize a sale this summer to avoid losing him on a free transfer at the end of the season. Talks between the two clubs are ongoing, and an agreement could be reached in the coming days.
