RB Salzburg: Aboubacar Sidiki Camara promoted to the first team
This is a major leap forward. Aboubacar Sidiki Camara has joined the professional squad of Red Bull Salzburg. Rewarded for his outstanding season with FC Liefering in the Austrian second division, the Burkinabè forward already got a taste of the Bundesliga last weekend, starting against Wolfsberg.
A well-deserved promotion
Sidiki Camara has truly earned his place. Loaned to Liefering last season, he was named revelation of the season in the second division. His stats speak for themselves: 27 matches, 7 goals, and 10 assists. An exceptional campaign that convinced the Salzburg management to open the doors of the first team to him. He was handed a starting spot right away against Wolfsberg in a 1-1 draw, playing 57 minutes before being substituted. This first appearance confirms he's now part of the professional rotation.
The journey of a talent developed in Burkina Faso
Arriving in Salzburg in January 2025 from Rahimo FC, the 19-year-old winger first had to adapt to European football. He had already made a name for himself on the international stage at the 2023 U17 World Cup in Indonesia. Fast, technical, left-footed with a powerful long-range shot, he ticks all the boxes of the Red Bull profile. Under contract until June 2029, he has plenty of time to establish himself. Joining the professional squad is a huge step for him. Now, the objective is to rack up minutes and cement his place at Salzburg for the long term.
