RC Lens: Arthur Masuaku returns to Sunderland after end of his loan
Arthur Masuaku’s loan spell at RC Lens has officially ended. The club from the Artois region announced on Tuesday the departure of the Congolese left-back, who now heads back to Sunderland AFC, where he is under contract until the summer of 2027.
His adventure in Lens comes to an end. Arthur Masuaku will return after his loan. Having rejoined Lens during the winter transfer window, the Congolese defender played a pivotal role in the impressive second half of the season for the Sang et Or. In their farewell message, the club praised his contribution in securing Champions League qualification and the team’s triumph in the Coupe de France, while wishing him the best for the rest of his career.
Arthur Masuaku is now expected back at Sunderland, while he continues his journey with DR Congo’s Leopards at the 2026 World Cup.
