Real Madrid: Already doubts about Ibrahima Konaté
In his first appearance in Real Madrid colors last Saturday against Espanyol Barcelona, Ibrahima Konaté failed to convince.
On Saturday, the former Liverpool man made his debut against Espanyol, during the narrow 2-1 win for Los Merengues, sealed by a late goal from Carlos Espi. Throughout the match, some positional issues from Ibrahima Konaté were observed, especially in the first half.

However, in one-on-one duels, the Frenchman showed strength and dominance. He was also imperious in aerial battles. The newspaper AS dedicated an article to him, noting that the Frenchman still has room for improvement. The outlet mentioned he looked a bit uncertain with the ball and that, within the club, he hasn't fully convinced yet.
While Dean Huijsen seems certain to keep his starting spot, that's not the case for Ibrahima Konaté, who faces stiff competition from Rüdiger. His performance against Espanyol did not allow him to definitively fend off the challenge from the German defender. "A decent start, but inaccuracies that could raise doubts with his new coach," concluded the Spanish outlet.
