Saturday night on Espanyol Barcelona’s pitch, Carlos Espi opened his account with Real Madrid, even clinching victory for Los Blancos (1-2).

In the dying moments of the match, forward Carlos Espi secured the win for Real Madrid against Espanyol Barcelona (2-1) on Saturday in La Liga. Signed this summer for €25 million from Levante, the Spanish international striker relished his perfect debut.

"I'm the happiest man in the world. I'm so happy for the three points and to have been able to help. When I saw the ball in the box, I told myself: ‘This can't be, it’s for me.’ I’m really thrilled with this goal. When I came on, I knew we’d get a chance, and that's exactly what happened. I just had this feeling," the Madrid player told the press.

Espi also received high praise from his coach, José Mourinho.
