Things did not go as Xabi Alonso and the Real Madrid players had hoped for the next match in a row. After losing 1-0 to Liverpool in the last Champions League match, today the white team loses two points in the smallest and most difficult stadium in the capital, Madrid.

The match was almost close in terms of the number of clear attempts on the goal between the two teams and in terms of the danger of the opportunities, but in the end neither team was able to score this goal and all the contests were negative.

With this goalless draw, City increased their tally to 31 points at the top of the table, while Iñigo Pérez's Rayo Vallecano maintained their 12th position in La Liga, giving Barcelona a chance to further reduce the gap with Real Madrid.
