Real Madrid: Hugo Sanchez raves about Kylian Mbappé

The greatest player in Mexican football history and a former Real Madrid striker (208 goals in 282 matches), Hugo Sanchez is in awe of Kylian Mbappé.

In a recent interview with L'Equipe, Hugo Sanchez shared his thoughts on his distant successor at Real Madrid.

"I'm delighted that he won his second Pichichi (La Liga top scorer award). First, because he plays for Real. And second, because he's French. I hope he'll be able to achieve great things with Real as well. (...) For me, Mbappé is the best striker in the world. That means he'll succeed at Real, because scoring goals might seem easy but it's not. Not every player scores as many as we did. Mbappé must be taken care of, protected and cherished, because there are very few like him in the world," said Sanchez.

For the Mexican legend, the captain of the French national team just needs to be mindful of his image off the pitch: "I imagine that the criticism comes from his behavior off the field. He needs to be careful because sensitivities in Spain are similar to those in Mexico and among Latins, and it's hard to predict how people will interpret things. He has to pay close attention to the little details with teammates and fans to make sure everyone is on his side."
