2026 World Cup - France: Mbappé addresses Les Bleus' goal
On Monday night, against Northern Ireland (3-1), Kylian Mbappé didn't deliver his best. However, the French national team captain showed great ambition when speaking to the media.
While the French Football Federation has set reaching at least the semi-finals as the minimum objective for Les Bleus at the 2026 World Cup, Kylian Mbappé has his sights set even higher.
"The objective is to win the World Cup. We're going to the United States to win the World Cup. I don't understand this talk from the outside about the semi-final being the goal. If the objective is to reach the semi-finals, do we just stop playing and go home once we get there? No! The objective is to win. That's everyone's dream," he said, as quoted by AS.
