Although he had already taken charge of Real Madrid at the start of the summer preparations, José Mourinho was officially unveiled by the Spanish club on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.

Officially back thirteen years after the end of his first stint, the Portuguese manager has signed a contract running until June 2029. During the closed-door presentation ceremony, José Mourinho did not hide his emotion when speaking to the media of Los Blancos.

"It's like coming home. Emotionally, it's even more beautiful than the first time. (...) I am one of you, I always have been," declared the Special One. José Mourinho also emphasized his desire to instill "a culture of work, responsibility, and ambition" for this new chapter at the helm of Real Madrid.
