Real Madrid: Jude Bellingham set to extend contract until 2032
Jude Bellingham is expected to continue his spell at Real Madrid. After his future raised questions during the summer, the England midfielder is now reportedly very close to signing a new contract extension with the Spanish club.
Agreement now very close
Having joined Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2023, Jude Bellingham quickly established himself at Real Madrid. His second season was, however, more inconsistent, to the point that reports emerged of discussions surrounding his future.
According to transfer specialist journalist Nicolò Schira, the situation has since changed. The two parties are now reportedly close to reaching an agreement to extend the player's contract, which currently runs until June 2029. The new deal would cover three additional years, taking it through to the summer of 2032.
Jude Bellingham rediscovers his influence
This development comes as the England international has rediscovered his best form with Real Madrid. After avoiding injuries and enjoying a good World Cup with England, Bellingham has also regained his effectiveness with his club. Since arriving in Madrid, the 23-year-old midfielder has recorded 49 goals and 36 assists in 147 official matches.
His start to the season has also confirmed his attacking influence. Bellingham has already scored three goals and provided three assists in six La Liga appearances. While a few details still need to be settled before the deal is officially announced, Real Madrid now appear close to securing the future of one of their key players for several more seasons.
