In an effort to woo Real Madrid's socios, Florentino Perez and Enrique Riquelme are promising new signings if elected president. Rodri's name has come up.

Enrique Riquelme had publicly stated that if he defeats Florentino Pérez, Erling Haaland and Rodri would both arrive at Real Madrid. At a press conference with the Spanish national team, midfielder Rodri was questioned about the rumors.

The Manchester City player dodged the topic: "Do I have an agreement with Enrique Riquelme to join Real Madrid? I'm here to talk about the World Cup. Anything concerning my future will have to wait until after the World Cup."
