Real Madrid: The adventure continues with Thibaut Courtois
Real Madrid continues to put its faith in Thibaut Courtois. As agreed a year ago, the Belgian goalkeeper already signed a contract extension last summer through to June 2027. The agreement remains unchanged and fully valid.
The Madrid management, however, plans to open talks with the 33-year-old shot-stopper after the end of the summer transfer window to explore the possibility of a further extension.
Internally, confidence in Courtois is unwavering. Real Madrid still considers the Belgian international a cornerstone of the squad and intends to rely on him for as long as he is physically able to perform at the highest level. At this stage, the club has no plans to sign a new goalkeeper.
Moreover, the latest updates regarding his health are extremely reassuring. Thibaut Courtois is not suffering from any injuries. Medical tests carried out today have revealed no issues whatsoever.
The Belgian keeper will now enjoy his holidays before returning to training at the end of July—excellent news for Real Madrid as the new season approaches.
