Real Madrid: The verdict is in for Thibaut Courtois

Thibaut Courtois exited the 2026 World Cup after picking up an injury during the quarter-final clash against Spain (1-2). The Real Madrid goalkeeper, however, doesn't have much to worry about.

Courtois had to make way for Senne Lammens in the 71st minute of the Belgium vs. Spain showdown. On Monday, medical tests conducted on the Real Madrid shot-stopper revealed a minor muscle injury to his left quadriceps.

Real Madrid expect to have Thibaut Courtois back in action at the start of their summer preparations, scheduled for late July for the internationals. It’s a timely boost for Los Blancos and Courtois ahead of the 2026-27 season.
